When losing a loved one the last thing you want to think of is the endless admin that awaits. While the reality is that life is never without admin, having all the necessary readily available, eases the heavy burden of those left behind.
Why use our Life File?
Our Life File provides you with a central storage place for life’s most essential documents and information – Legal, personal and financial details all in one place.
This file enables loved ones to locate your essential documents and info in case of an emergency, or in the event of you or your loved one passing away.
Death of a loved one or an unforeseen emergency is never a nice thing, but being prepared and having all your “ducks in a row” makes these unforeseen life events a little less stressful for those left behind having to deal with your estate.
A Life File is not only for when you pass away
Your Life File is set up in a way that should you urgently need important info regarding your personal, legal or financial details, it’s all there in one central place. No need to rummage through multiple drawers in your house looking for that one piece of paper you wrote down a password or policy number – Your Life File is where you’ll have it.
The File Consists of 9 Sections
- PERSONAL PARTICULARS
- INSURANCE INFORMATION
- EMERGENCY CONTACTS
- HOUSEHOLD EXPENSES
- ASSETS & LIABILITIES (FINANCIAL INFO)
- USERNAMES & PASSWORDS
- MEDICAL INFORMATION
- END OF LIFE DIRECTIVES
- LIST OF IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS (TO KEEP ON HAND)
Ditch the clutter and unnecessary admin by using Your Life File and keep what matters most in a central place, which makes it easy to find info when you need it the most.
A life file might seem like a mountain of admin to do, but it becomes a vital piece when winding up an estate and reporting it to the Master of The High Court. Don’t leave your family or the Executor of your estate in chaos when you pass away, but instead, leave them with an organized file so that your estate can be handled effectively.
Important things to remember
Keep the originals of all your documents and information (e.g. certificates, policies, medical, personal, legal, and so forth) in this filing system – However, make sure you have digital and physical copies of all these documents and information.
- When making a copy of a document, write on the reverse of each document in which section of Your Life File it can be found. When you update or renew any documents, make sure they are dated and filed in the relevant section.
- Don’t give away copies saved in Your Life File. If someone needs a copy, make one for them and place your copy back in Your Life File.
- Make sure a trusted or close relative to you or your partner knows where Your Life File is located if one or both of you pass away.
- Use an app for storing pin numbers and passwords in a secure online vault that you can access via any computer with a master password.
